Harmonic’s StreamLiner® 2000 video server product line includes functionality specifically targeted at DBS operators. Assets can be downloaded to set-top box hard drives, in am manner similar to existing over-the-top solutions, in addition to the existing support for real-time VOD sessions. Over time, as broadband speeds increase (or network partnerships are formed) the investment in non-real time delivery infrastructure can easily switch to real-time VOD services with minimal effort and without needing to deploy a completely new solution.

Harmonic’s CLEARcut™ Storage Encoding Solution provides a complete system for creating high-quality, low bit-rate SD and HD digital content for use in VOD and other applications. The CLEARcut Storage Encoding Solution consists of CLEARcut Studio 3.1 and Harmonic’s industry leading broadcast encoders allowing operators to purpose their video offerings for VOD applications. In addition, Harmonic’s Rhozet® software-based universal transcoding solutions facilitate the creation of multi-format video for Internet, mobile and broadcast applications.
