Harmonic offers a state-of-the-art suite of IP-based video delivery solutions including content acquisition, compression and stream processing, as well as integrated broadcast (multicast) and on-demand (unicast) solutions. IP-centric Architecture

Choosing the right architecture is paramount when addressing scalability, reliability and ease of operation, especially in the case of multi-site or remote locations. Harmonic pioneered the use of IP-centric headend architectures, which substantially differ from traditional broadcast layouts by using an operator's private IP network to do Service Aggregation.

To add new services operators, simply add equipment to the IP backbone. Harmonic has been consistent with this IP-centric approach by integrating IP into all its product lines. This also includes Harmonic's DiviTrackIP™ solution, which provides statistical multiplexing for a pool of equipment distributed in different geographical locations, making the network layout totally transparent in terms of video transmission concerns.
